Bridgestone and Michelin are top-notch tire brands that have been in competition since Bridgestone was founded in 1931. While both are great tires, what customers should expect from them is a little a former Bridgestone Engineer, I think that these are close-rated brands. However, I believe that both brands have pros on cons. The good news is it looks like they share the market by categories. Let’s move on!Trust and PrestigeBridgestone, which is sold in approximately 150 countries around the world, from Japan to the USA, is the leader of the world tire market with its global know-how, suitability for all world roads, and high-standard and quality products. Producing tires suitable for all types of vehicles, from motorcycles to automobiles, from construction equipment to aircraft, Bridgestone has combined its strength and global experience with Firestone in the and DynamismOne of Bridgestone’s main goals is to transfer all of its huge investments in research & development over the years and the technology it has developed during many motorsport sponsorships to all its products. Being able to offer these distinguishing features to all its users is one of Bridgestone’s most important values. Bridgestone always carries the flag of innovation and dynamism with the highest scores in eco projects and independent instance, Bridgestone is the first company that uses Run-Flat’ tire technology. Even though I don’t personally like run-flat tires, this is the biggest development in the tire industry in recent years. Pro Tip If you’d like to learn more about the difference between run-flat and regular tires, you can check this article out!Customer SatisfactionDeveloping a tire is a complex business. It takes at least three the design phase takes a year, the remaining 2 years are spent on field I was part of this process. I can confidently tell you that customer satisfaction is the foremost main topic of these three years. Besides that, nothing changes after the product is I can’t tell you that you’re gonna satisfy with all Bridgestone tires, though, if you’ll have any issue, Bridgestone will fix it!HistoryFounded in 1930The first time listed on the stock exchange was in 1961Bridgestone acquired Firestone in 1988. So, yes, Bridgestone and Firestone are the same companyBridgestone acquires Bandag, Inc. in 2007 one of the world’s leading tire retread businessesBridgestone acquired Europe’s largest digital fleet solutions provider, TomTom Telematics currently Webfleet SolutionsNote Numerically, Bridgestone is the biggest tire Tires OverviewMichelin is the most popular and in my opinion best tire brand in the Bridgestone, they put comfort is the top of their to-do list’. Besides that, the brand itself is a test killer. If you ever read a tire test report, Michelin is probably the winner of that how can they do this? Here are the TestingEvery tire manufacturer puts its tires to the test. In fact, this is a world-class necessity. Fulfilling this quality standard may be possible with standardized tests. However, Michelin has greatly exaggerated this event in order to understand in the best way what kind of difficult conditions the product it produces can actually withstand, and what kind of results it may encounter beyond the foreseen. In a year, Michelin tests its tires in such a way that 1 billion miles, yes you heard it right, 1 billion miles 1609344000 km tire models are put to the test. This figure is equivalent to going around the planet 40 Compound & DesignWhen you are going to buy a tire, you may think about how much scientific studies have been done on it, but you cannot predict how detailed it can be. Thanks to the tread patterns developed by Michelin R&D engineers, you can provide superior performance and safety even in rainy and difficult weather conditions. This patented tread pattern, which belongs only to Michelin, has emerged with special design and design studies together with the tests. With models such as Michelin CrossClimate or Primacy you buy, you not only buy that model, but you also buy high Michelin PolicyMichelin subjects it to many processes until it produces a tire. The most important of these is quality and control. Every product that is mass-produced in the world always produces faulty products. Michelin never sells faulty production from the production line. Incorrectly manufactured tires are immediately sent for recycling. Michelin has also produced its own patented machines in order to achieve the desired quality on the production line. Thanks to these special production machines, control safety has been increased and production error rates have been reduced. That’s why Michelin is the world’s best tire manufacturer in 1889Invented the first radial tire in 1949 now, radial tire takes 100% of the market shareMichelin acquired BF Goodrich in 1989. So, yes, BF Goodrich and Michelin are the same companyMichelin acquired Uniroyal US in 1989. Though, they’re not the same company because Bridgestone bought Uniroyal Australia in acquired Camso in 2018Michelin bought of Achilles and Corsa Tires in 2019. Affordable Michelin brand is loading!!!Note Numerically, Michelin is the second biggest tire manufacturer in the vs Bridgestone What to ExpectBridgestone and Michelin respect each other strong points. This competition is the biggest factor in the development of the tire industry in recent though both are reliable in all aspects, they meet with different customer dig into features and find which one is best for is basically the grip capability of your tire. In this case, compound selection and tread design play the biggest since dry, wet, and snow traction requires different features, separating this section into three will give us the best Traction Both brands are performing excellently in dry conditions. However, if you’re living in a dry region, I believe that Bridgestone is a better option due to its generally stiffer compound Traction While Bridgestone is above average in this case, Michelin is leading the Traction Even though some of Michelin’s tires racks, yet, Bridgestone is the safe side handling is the most important safety metric, both company pays huge attention to this feature. Well, the market wants it all at once. However, it’s really hard to depending on the tire category, handling is affected by different softer compound decrease the handling, strong sidewalls, and compact pattern creates a huge competition is tight in this section. If the handling is your priority, I recommend,Bridgestone for summer tiresMichelin for all-season tiresMichelin for winter tiresLongevityLongevity is what Bridgestone promotes more. Well, there is a reason behind I’ve mentioned before, Bridgestone prefers stiffer compounds. This is a huge advantage for better mileage. However, Michelin tires are always lighter. Hence, they generally have lower rolling resistance which can slower tires’ I were not spending 5 years in the tire industry and finding everything online, I would say, it’s a tie game. But, I’m not. So, I prefer to separate categories and share my personal experience with Tires I prefer Bridgestone tires again. I think summer tires are the weakest point of MichelinAll-Season Tires Michelin the whole day long. They’re the inventor of all-weather tires. They know how the combine summer tire pattern with all-season Tires Michelin tires will last longer. Yet, I still recommend Bridgestone and NoiseNoise reduction and comfort are the most important metrics for passenger vehicles. These two are related to different things. While comfort is mostly related to the inner structure, noise reduction is directly related to the pattern and the void area ratio of your tire comfort, Even though Bridgestone is one of the best in this case, Bridgestone tires always have a stiff ride because of their highly durable inner structures. So, if you ask me I trade this slight decrease in comfort for a more durable tire. Yet, we’re talking about comfort. Michelin is a slightly better noise reduction, there is no competition. Michelin leads the market with their unique pattern designs. In my point of view, the rest of the market is I have to admit that Michelin is a better tire if we combine noise reduction and comfort. Yet, the difference isn’t brands offer great warranties. However, I’ve experienced both. I can confidently say that Bridgestone overperforms Michelin in this the attention shown to you is important to you, I recommend Bridgestone You’ll probably don’t need to warranty with Michelin tires. LOOOL!PriceI know I’ve been promoting Michelin in this article. Though, all the features I’ve been mentioning are meanless if the tire is too all know that Michelin tires are the most expensive tires by far. So, the real question out here is Are they worth it?’.Yes, they’re. Well, only if you don’t wanna think about your tire in the next 3-5 years. On the other hand, Bridgestone is at the top of the Price/Performance to Bridgestone, Michelin is a high-ticket brand. Yet, in my point of view, it totally worth it. However, if you’re in financial difficulty, Bridgestone will meet your recent years, the tire market expands and develop so quickly. Well, the companies influence each other and reverse engineering works perfectly in this regarding these two tire manufacturers, both are reliable and trustworthy. However, they are unique in some is a better tire for summer usageMichelin is a better option for all-season usage. However, Bridgestone WeatherPeak gonna be an expectedBoth are equally good in winter. Yet, Bridgestone focuses on traction but Michelin focuses on tires generally offer longer tread lifeMichelin tires are generally smootherTake-Home Points,LT sizes have stronger sidewalls. That feature makes them more durable. Yet, these tires offer a rougher ride. LT vs P-Metric tiresXL sizes tend to carry more load and offer better handling. Hence, if you’ll go with p-metric sizes, they might be a better pick for hauling and towing XL vs SL tiresPlease pay attention to the load range and speed index. These metrics are essential if you expect decent tread lifeThere isn’t a bad tire in the market right now, you should just know what to expect from tiresA side note here If you’d like to get local advice and find the best fit for your driving habits, location, and road conditions DiscountTire – Treadwell Tire Guide can give you masterpiece hope the article was helpful fellows. MICHELIN PILOT SPORT 4Many people know Bridgestone RE050 as the original equipment tire for various BMW, Ferrari, and Mercedes-Benz AMG models. This speaks volumes about this tire’s features and performance levels. For those of you who are unaware of the Potenza’s legendary status, it is a summer tire designed for high-end Potenza offers impressive performance in a variety of driving conditions. Whether it’s extreme summer heat or the rainy season, there’s no need to worry. The Potenza is designed to offer uniform steering response and traction in all types of road conditions. Besides this, the tire is known to be remarkably directional tread pattern allows for better acceleration and stability during high-speed cornering. The fabric cord body ply further improves the overall driving experience. The only complaint that we have against the Potenza is that the tread durability is poor. Tires from competitors in the same line-up are much more competitor to the Potenza is the Pilot Sport 4. The Pilot might not be as famous as the Potenza, but that does not mean that it is any less worthy. In fact, the Pilot is much more compatible with performance hungry cars as compared to Bridgestone’s offering. The first thing that makes this tire stand out is its has designed it in such a way that the rolling resistance has been remarkably reduced. This improves fuel efficiency along with the durability of the tires. Recognizing that sports vehicles are much more susceptible to curb damage, the Pilot comes with a built-in deep rim protector. Now, there is no longer a need to worry about accidental curb truly unique about the Pilot is the Formula-E tread pattern. When this is combined with the latest elastomers and silica, you get next-level performance. These features are responsible for the Pilot's remarkably short braking distance and wet surface performance. Risks such as hydroplaning are non-existent when the vehicle is equipped with Michelin’s are great tires. Picking a winner is like finding a needle in a haystack. Nevertheless, if we are asked to pick a winner, our choice is the Pilot. The reason is that it is a modern tire as compared to Potenza. The Pilot has been designed, keeping in mind what modern-day cars are offering. Nevertheless, the Potenza line-up's later models can easily give the Pilot a run for its ALENZA 001 VS. MICHELIN PILOT SPORT 4 SUVModern SUVs are no longer just fuel-hungry machines with no regard for the environment or other people. Instead, manufacturers have moved beyond the conventional stereotypes associated with SUVs. Today, these vehicles offer elegance, luxury, and comfort without affecting the environment or consuming too much Bridgestone Alenza 001 provides a lot to SUVs. For instance, the Alenza offers SUV owners the ability to drive in wet and dry conditions with little difference. Due to the unique design and overall construction, the traction remains uniform in all types of road conditions. The dangers associated with wet surfaces like hydroplaning are efficiently dealt with by the risk of hydroplaning is reduced due to Alenza’s tread design that allows for quick dispersion of water. Another great feature is the Nano Pro-Tech that is responsible for the high heat resistance. This prevents premature tear and wear. Similarly, it also allows for greater fuel efficiency as less energy is required to roll the tires along the not all. The Alenza has a lot more to offer to SUV owners. Imagine cornering at high speeds only to lose traction and end up in a car crash. This scenario is quite likely if you have low-quality tires installed. However, the multi-round block structure provides stability during cornering and instant steering Pilot Sport 4 SUV is another marvellous option for SUVs and crossover vehicles. If you fancy a little off-road driving experience, there's no cause for alarm. The Sport 4 SUV are well-capable of handling their own in challenging driving conditions. What makes them quite popular is their versatility across different driving it's warm, wet, or dry conditions, you will not be able to feel a difference in performance, traction, and comfortability. The functional elastomers and thin silica are responsible for improved performance, especially in wet surface conditions. The optimized notches help reduce the braking distance, a significant improvement in terms of tire’s internal construction consists of a high-density polyester casing. This casing improves the robustness of the tire and its durability. If you are driving over hard surfaces like rocks, the robustness prevents punctures and even tire bursts. The Pilot Sport 4 SUV also comes with a deep rim is no clear winner here. The Alenza and the Pilot are equally great tires. If you have a choice between the two, do coins flip? That’s how difficult it is to decide a winner among the two. If budget is an issue, you can opt for the Alenza. However, it is just slightly cheaper than the Pilot Sport 4 only thing different is the products. Instead of elaborating on the two brands, we will get straight to the all, there is no point in telling you about the world's top two tyre brands because you already all there is to know about TiresFirst, we will talk about tires that you can use on sedans, coupes, and other similar of Michelin Car TiresMICHELIN Alpin A4 - Passenger Car/MinivanMICHELIN Defender T + H - Passenger Car/MinivanMICHELIN Energy™ LX4 - Passenger Car/MinivanMICHELIN Energy™ Saver A/S - Passenger Car/MinivanMICHELIN Primacy All Season - Passenger Car/MinivanMICHELIN X-Ice - Passenger Car/MinivanMICHELIN X-ICE SNOW - Passenger Car/MinivanMICHELIN X-Ice Xi3 - Passenger Car/MinivanMICHELIN X Tour A/S - Passenger Car/MinivanList of Bridgestone Car TiresPOTENZA - PerformanceDRIVEGUARD - Peace of MindTURANZA - Quiet RideECOPIA - Fuel EfficiencyDUELER - Off-Road TractionBlizzak - Winter TractionBridgestone Turanza T005If you are looking for the best Michelin tire for your car, then you have found your answer in the Turanza T005. It is a summer tire with a particular focus on the dry and wet it is the highest-rated tire for braking and turning on wet roads. Two features are responsible for this tire's excellent wet surface rating – high blocks in the shoulder area and a wide gap in the same features combine to quickly disperse water and reduce the risk of aquaplaning. That's not all, as the T005 is given an A rating when it comes to wet grip. Depending on the size, the tire may come with Bridgestone’s run-flat the rubber, the T005 comes with stiff polyester and steel that reduce the rolling resistance. Fortunately, the Michelin Primacy 4 is an Primacy 4 comes with Michelin's EverGrip technology, enabling it to provide the same traction from its first kilometre to the last. Due to an optimised contact patch, the pressure and heat are evenly distributed across the tire, preventing premature wear and combined with the new rubber compound, the result is a long-lasting tire. When compared with its predecessor, the Primacy 4 is 20% more going through their features, customer reviews, and prices, our opinion is tilted towards the Primacy 4. Theirhistory, international reputation and warranties already make you a winner. Bridgestone seemingly has more of a focus on the 'everyday' motorist than Michelin. And though Michelin might be a bit more upscale, it does offer 'everyday' tyres at a price accessible for many people for the discerning buyer. Bridgestone and Michelin are among the largest tire makers in the planet along with Goodyear and Continental. If you are privy about the statistics, here are some numbers for you Based on tire-related sales in the first and second quarter of 2016, Bridgestone is at the top of the podium with approximately $12 billion in in at a close second place is Michelin with $ billion in total is in third place with approximately $ billion worth of tires out the top 4 is Continental with $ billion worth of tire sales. Based on the sales stats, Bridgestone and Michelin are literally neck and neck for the title of the world’s biggest tire maker. This is the reason why people often ask which is the best between Bridgestone and Michelin since these two brands are among the most popular in the world. Bridgestone Tires Overview Bridgestone Americas is the offspring of two major companies The Firestone Tire & Rubber Company founded by Harvey Firestone in Akron, Ohio in August 1900, and Bridgestone Tire Company of Japan founded by Shojiro Ishibashi in 1931. The Bridgestone name is synonymous with motorsports, particularly in Formula One racing. Bridgestone has been a major part of Formula One since 1997. The company won its first title in 1998 for the McLaren-Mercedes team under the fantastic driving of Mika Hakkinen. Michelin Tires Overview Michelin tires were founded by brothers Edouard Michelin and Andre Michelin in 1889. The two ran a small rubber factory in Clermont-Ferrand, France. Michelin filed its first patent for a removable pneumatic tire in 1891. The prototype tire was used in the bicycle of Charles Terront to win the Paris-Brest-Paris bicycle race, which was the world’s first ever long-distance cycle race. Interestingly enough, Michelin was the first to introduce the concept of a run-flat tire in 1934. The tire would basically run on a special foam lining if it gets punctured. But the company gained prominence in 1946 when it introduced the world’s first radial tire. Ironically, Michelin first competed in Formula One in 1977, which is the same year that Bridgestone entered Formula One as well. Michelin was the first to introduce radial tire technology in Formula One. The question should NOT be focused on which among Bridgestone or Michelin tires is the best since there is no clear and definite answer. The question should rather be what OEM tires were fitted to my ride? Modern cars are so complex that some were developed and engineered to run at peak performance using a specific set of tires from a famous brand, whether it be Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear, or Pirelli. For example, the 2017 Bugatti Chiron sports a set of tires co-developed with Michelin. But even that’s not enough since Bugatti is still waiting for a tire that can travel at the Chiron’s top speed of 310 mph. Since the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires of the Chiron are not rated to handle that ludicrous top speed, the car is now limited to a top speed of only’ 280 mph. The lesson here is simple. If your vehicle was equipped with Bridgestone tires from the factory, it is safe to assume that those specific set of tires will deliver the best combination of traction, comfort, and ride quality in your vehicle. It’s the same with Michelin tires. In terms of price, it is hard to differentiate the two brands since their tires are priced similarly. Mind you, Bridgestone and Michelin tires are not cheap. They are among the most expensive set of tires that you can buy. However, you are not only paying for the brand panache since you also get a longer warranty with each Bridgestone or Michelin tire. Conclusion – Bridgestone versus Michelin There is no definite answer to which among Bridgestone and Michelin are better since you have to consider a lot of variables like wet traction, dry traction, tread wear, road noise, comfort, and the warranty. Choosing between the two brands is like asking a car enthusiast to choose between a Ferrari or a Lamborghini, Pagani versus Koenigsegg, or Mercedes versus BMW. It is seemingly impossible to choose since each brand offers a different sort of driving experience. One thing is for sure, though. If you are choosing between Bridgestone and Michelin, you can be confident you are getting the best from each brand since they won’t be the top tire makers in the world if not for their commitment to quality and performance. The Michelin is lot more silent than G015. However, I won't compare these two actually as the G015 is an A/T tyre, though I think it is biased towards highway use as it has four grooves to drain water. There's not much difference in highway grip when compared to PrimacySUV but the noise is substantial. Overall, Primacy is better as my XUV has mediocre brakes while the Duster is a well-planted vehicle. PrimacySUV is not an A/T tyre. It is an excellent highway runner. As said by many, you should include and compare the LTX and not PrimacySUV with G015, IMHO. Else you should include GeoLandar G055 also. Is BFG available, I thought both BFG and Falken / Hankook are not available due to the recent govt policies ? I voted for the G015 since you are apparently looking for an A/T tyre. I have recently bought a Hyundai Tucson CRDi the SUV is excellent but the tyres which Hyundai gave as OE fitment is cheap Korean made Nexen tyres the problems of which are already very well highlighted in a well compiled and documented manner somewhere else in the forum which is why I'm considering to replace these tyres to something better. As for your question I shall suggest you to go for the Bridgestone Duelers. They might not be as silent as say Michelins and neither do they have phenomenal wet grip but they are extremely durable for SUVs and at the same time are relatively silent and have reasonable grip levels. The Michelins even though excellent use soft compound which might cause it to develop cracks when put through some abuse, I was reading the thread of a fellow BHPian where he mentioned about the tyre cut in his Volkswagen Jetta also many such threads are beautifully archived in the forum. Lastly Bridgestone Duelers are among the better tyres. My friend who has a Hyundai Creta got these as OEM and is very satisfied with the same. Used them on my Fortuner and was very happy. May I suggest an additional Wildcard entry? Apollo Tyres. From my experience not technically speaking I have found the compound of Apollo tires to be quite firm and therefore they are able to take a beating day in and out. I have had quite a few punctures over the years and yet the tyres haven't complained in any way. They are also cheaper than some of the more expensive brands. Additionally, my daily commute of around 50-60 Kms in Mumbai has also been quite pleasant with these tyres. Out of all the other tyres that I have owned these ones have been the least prone to bruising, cuts etc. Being a government officer, I also have to travel to many construction sites where road conditions are possibly worst than off-road and the Apollos have been my choice. Would suggest you to give them some consideration too 4 Thanks 13th December 2021, 0130 15 BHPian Join Date Oct 2019 Location Bangalore,DEL Posts 86 Thanked 341 Times re SUV tyres for Indian Roads - Poll No experience with BFG. Both Premier and Primacy are the top tires of Michelin. But since they are pretty good, what will you choose? Choosing tires set is essential for your vehicle. They are one of the most vital parts that need to be changed eventually. By selecting the right set, you can get a better driving experience, according to the characters and the speciality of these tires. What we have here are Michelin Premier and Michelin Primacy, two of the best Michelin tires that mostly known for the value for money. What can we say? They got the durability, comfort, performance, acceleration altogether within the excellent affordable package. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the Michelin Premier and Primacy, along with their in-depth reviews, which may help you to consider buying the best fit for your vehicle. Contents1 Michelin Premier2 Michelin Primacy3 Michelin Premier vs Primacy 4 Conclusion The first one on the list is Michelin Premier. Known as one of the best tire brands in the world, Michelin keeps producing the best tires in the market, and Premier is its best selling one. If you talk about durability, this is the King. Tread life is better when compared to the competitors, even the premium ones. So, this tire set can give you better longevity plus a smoother riding experience. Since the price is pretty much affordable, you can also save some money by buying Michelin Premier. And because the tires are pretty durable, you don’t need to change these anytime soon. You can use them for a longer time. This way will effectively cut your tire expense. Read also Toyo Open Country MT vs Nitto Ridge Grappler. With all these benefits, no wonder many car owners would always recommend this tire. Its premium quality is unquestionable, and once you install Michelin Premier, you won’t take a glance at other tires ever again. The premiums also paid with the affordable price seems too good to be accurate, but it is. Michelin Premier is one of those tires that has durability on its hand. With an exceptional tread life, you can always depend on the Premier for longer rides. Longevity isn’t the only thing you can get, but also the performance and the service in general. These tires can deliver the best user experience you could ever hope for. Providing a smoother ride, Michelin Premier can make the whole riding experience better with less noise produced and protecting against bumps. The ability to absorb shocks and shakes are pretty good too. Acceleration is an essential aspect of a cor. Better acceleration can be translated into better speed to some extend. Supporting the engine, Michelin Premier can deliver better acceleration by removing the excessive load from the engine. This way, the machine can be maintained longer and could last for some more. Another fantastic thing about these tires is that they’re pretty versatile for other environments besides city road. Though it’s not highly effective to fight snow, they’re capable of taking wet or dry roads. Michelin Primacy Now we’re taking a glance at Michelin Primacy, another excellent tire by Michelin. Compared to Premier, this is still a fantastic set. It’s highly dependable for your vehicle and having the best friction than others. You can still gain the best performance and control possible, along with its exciting details. No matter what surface you’re on, Michelin Primacy will take you through it. It works miraculously by absorbing shocks and shakers, further give you a smoother driving experience. Talking about performance delivery, Michelin Primacy can even surpass Premier. It’s often regarded as the best quality tires in the entire marketplace, at the same price level. But, all these are traded with less good tread life and longevity. While Premier seems to balance all of them, Primacy does give some of the ups and downs. The tearing rate is considerably worse, so you need to replace these tires more often. Of course, the price is also not considered to be affordable. While you have the budget, Michele Primacy can work in the way you desire. As mentione above, Micheli Primacy does give you the control and performance, those most lovable factors. But, the friction part is not as good as others, even Premier. You can still find other convenient features, though. It takes off the pressure and makes it easier for the engine to run. This will result in better performance to bring out the best of your car. Increased acceleration, which makes the engine works less complicated, can make its life better than usual. Of course, it still has durability, but it is not the best in the market. Tread life is not that terrible, but it’s nowhere near Premier either. But, if you take a direct comparison of Primacy and the other tires at the same price level, Primacy can give you more than just tires. The tires bring out the maximum comfort, so for those who want a smoother ride, Primacy is the one to go, though the users still need to replace them now and then. The fantastic riding performance is greatly enhanced than usual. What’s more interesting is that they perform quaitely. While you’re driving, the sounds produced from the tires will be significantly decreased. As for the value for money, Michelin Primacy works excellently. It can deliver premium quality and many features to consider in a not too expensive way. We’ve looked into Michelin Premier and Primacy and took some notes around what’s best about these two. From the findings above, we can consider that both are great tires. They have value for money but come with different characters, and you need to consider which one can suit you the best. Michelin Premier is most balanced of all. It’s durable, able to deliver the best performance, and notably better tread life for longer use. Compared to the tread life in Primacy, it is way more significant. If you’re not that bothered about tread life, Primacy can give you a much better riding experience. It feels smoother and more convenient than Premier.
